Please stop running ads

You advertise to make something happen. You run ads to make noise. An ad is only as good as the campaign it supports. Great advertising has a mission because each ad builds upon earlier ones to drive a campaign.

My experience in advertising over the past 30 years has taught me many lessons. This is the big one: run an ad, spend your money; run a campaign, invest your money. Which sounds better to you?

Charlie Moger

As President of Houston, Texas-based Wizard of Ads Gulf Coast, and MogerMedia, I help you build business by attracting and connecting with customers so you can sell things to them. Pretty simple, really. That’s why it works.

My understanding of what works in sales and advertising is the result of decades experience working in and with broadcast and online media in positions ranging from sales and promotion, to production and operations.

I also publish two weekly blogs. adMISSIONs, covering advertising and marketing with owner/operator companies in mind. The second, Four Speed Selling, focuses on an alignment-based sales method I developed that generates consistent sales results. Using this method, I set records that stand unbroken over a decade later and I continue outperforming my market in spite of the economy.

My team and I love our work and have created successful campaigns for businesses in home after-market, lawn & garden, automotive retail, business-to-business, and cause marketing with clients ranging in size from Anheuser-Busch, Seagram’s, and James Hardie Building Products, to owner-operated companies such as Nelson Water Gardens, Vine Wine Room and Tejas Toyota.

My mother insists I mention my Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Organizational Communications from Emerson College. (She’s quick to add that I graduated with honors. Thanks, Mom.) In my spare time, I serve on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Swine Auction Committee, am founder of DaddyMoms–an organization dedicated to helping suddenly singled fathers find their way. For fun, I delight in capturing the world through the viewfinder of my camera. But, what matters most to me as a solo parent is being there for my four babies.
